Finding your way around with a Tweed Heads Map

Finding your way around Tweed Heads is reasonably easy as the town is flat and follows the river and the coastline. The Tweed Shops actually blend into the Gold Coast town of Coolangatta. That's why many people call this area Tweed/Coolangatta or Twin Towns as both towns are on the border of NSW and Queensland.

It is not hard to make the mistake of thinking the two towns are the same. Be careful because in the Summer months N.S.W runs on Daylight savings time and Coolangatta - which is over the border in Queensland - does not! This means that Queensland is one hour behind. The locals refer to Queensland or New South Wales time so make sure you know which time zone you or the person you've set an appointment with are talking about! Set your watch to whichever is more suitable for you. As a rule, if you're heading south use NSW time and if you're heading North use Queensland!
